ramsetreid at NZCIC 2017

Following on from the success of last year’s event in Auckland, the New Zealand Concrete Industry Conference (NZCIC) returned to Wellington for the first time in 7 years. Held at Te Papa from October 12th - 14th, NZCIC 2017 brought together key stakeholders from across the NZ concrete industry.

The New Zealand Concrete Industry Conference (NZCIC) is organised jointly by:

  • Cement & Concrete Association of NZNZ Concrete
  • Masonry Association
  • NZ Concrete Society
  • NZ Ready Mixed Concrete Association
  • Precast New Zealand Inc

The event was held at Te Papa, Wellington on October 12th-14th brought together key stakeholders from across the NZ concrete industry.

Highlights of the event were the insightful presentations given across a wide range of fields including structural, architectural, materials and infrastructural engineering.

ramsetreid’s own Andrew Coumaros presented his paper ‘Joint Design and Management in Industrial Floors’. Andrew’s paper drew focus on the considerations when designing joints for industrial concrete slabs including:

  • Future proofing the asset through maximizing the use of the slab
  • Appropriate load transfer systems based on the use of the slab
  • Installing dowels in the correct location
  • The role of the slabAppropriate edge protection or armouring of the joint

Andrew’s paper is based on the most current best practice and utilizing the most recent global standards, namely TR34 Fourth Edition and ACI360R-10.

The ramsetreid team were honoured to receive the NZCIC Best Trade Event Award 2017 for their Danley Flooring Display! We are all looking forward to what’s in store for us at NZCIC 2018!
